The UK government has officially halted support for the MAD 310 billion Morocco-UK Power Project, citing a shift toward prioritizing homegrown energy. Xlinks, the company behind the project, expressed disappointment and said it would explore alternative paths to develop the project.
Xlinks has requested a pause in its DCO application for the Morocco–UK Power Project while it awaits the UK government’s decision on its Contract for Difference (CfD) bid, which will determine the price at which the project can sell electricity. The pause is seen as a strategic step to align all project stages.
