In recent days, several Algerian media outlets have attempted to spread false claims that Morocco was excluded from the Panama International Book Fair for political reasons linked to the Western Sahara issue. In reality, the situation on the ground was entirely different.
On Thursday, Algeria announced it would end the free provision of goods and services to the French Embassy, a privilege in place since 1962, in response to the French president’s decision to revoke visa exemptions for Algerian officials.
France has decided to end a privilege previously granted to Algerian officials and diplomats, who will now be required to go through the standard visa process to enter French territory.
