24.11.إِنَّ الَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا بِالْإِفْكِ عُصْبَةٌ مِّنكُمْ لَا تَحْسَبُوهُ شَرّاً لَّكُم بَلْ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُم مَّا اكْتَسَبَ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ وَالَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ مِنْهُمْ لَهُ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

24.11. Certes, une bande parmi vous a propagé une abominable calomnie. Mais ne croyez pas que cela soit de nature à vous nuire , au contraire, cela constitue un avantage pour vous, car chacun des complices est appelé à répondre de son forfait, alors que l'auteur principal de cette médisance subira, lui, un terrible châtiment.

24.11 . Lo! they who spread the slander are a gang among you . Deem it not a bad thing for you ; say , it is good for you . Unto every man of them ( will be paid that which he hath earned of the sin ; and as for him among them who had the greater share therein , his will be an awful doom .

24.11. Inna allatheena jaoo bial-ifki AAusbatun minkum la tahsaboohu sharran lakum bal huwa khayrun lakum likulli imri-in minhum ma iktasaba mina al-ithmi waallathee tawalla kibrahu minhum lahu AAathabun AAatheemun

24.12.لَوْلَا إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْراً وَقَالُوا هَذَا إِفْكٌ مُّبِينٌ

24.12. Quand vous avez entendu cette calomnie, les croyants et les croyantes auraient dû avoir une meilleure opinion d'eux-mêmes et simplement dire : «C'est là une calomnie manifeste !»

24.12 . Why did not the believers , men and women , when ye heard it , think good of their own folk ; and say : It is a manifest untruth?

24.12. Lawla ith samiAAtumoohu thanna almu/minoona waalmu/minatu bi-anfusihim khayran waqaloo hatha ifkun mubeenun

24.13.لَوْلَا جَاؤُوا عَلَيْهِ بِأَرْبَعَةِ شُهَدَاء فَإِذْ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بِالشُّهَدَاء فَأُوْلَئِكَ عِندَ اللَّهِ هُمُ الْكَاذِبُونَ

24.13. Que n'ont-ils amené quatre témoins pour appuyer leur accusation? Ne l'ayant pas fait, ils ne sont au regard de Dieu que des menteurs !

24.13 . Why did they not produce four witnesses? Since they produce not witnesses , they verily are liars in the sight of Allah .

24.13. Lawla jaoo AAalayhi bi-arbaAAati shuhadaa fa-ith lam ya/too bialshshuhada-i faola-ika AAinda Allahi humu alkathiboona

24.14.وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَتُهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمْ فِي مَا أَفَضْتُمْ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

24.14. N'étaient la grâce et la bonté de Dieu envers vous dans ce monde et dans l'autre, vous auriez subi un terrible châtiment en punition de vos commérages

24.14 . Had it not been for the grace of Allah and His mercy unto you in the world and the Hereafter an awful doom had overtaken you for that whereof ye murmured .

24.14. Walawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu fee alddunya waal-akhirati lamassakum fee ma afadtum feehi AAathabun AAatheemun

24.15.إِذْ تَلَقَّوْنَهُ بِأَلْسِنَتِكُمْ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِكُم مَّا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَتَحْسَبُونَهُ هَيِّناً وَهُوَ عِندَ اللَّهِ عَظِيمٌ

24.15. et des propos que vous colportiez de bouche en bouche, sans en avoir aucune preuve, croyant que la chose avait peu d'importance, alors qu'elle revêtait une gravité exceptionnelle auprès du Seigneur.

24.15 . When ye welcomed it with your tongues , and uttered with your mouths that whereof ye had no knowledge , ye counted it a trifle . In the sight of Allah it is very great .

24.15. Ith talaqqawnahu bi-alsinatikum wataqooloona bi-afwahikum ma laysa lakum bihi AAilmun watahsaboonahu hayyinan wahuwa AAinda Allahi AAatheemun
