31.16.يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّهَا إِن تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُن فِي صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَوْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ

31.16. «Ô mon cher fils, ajouta Luqmân, toute faute, fût-elle du poids d'un grain de moutarde dissimulé dans un rocher, dans les Cieux ou dans la Terre, Dieu la mettra en pleine lumière, car Dieu est Subtil et parfaitement Informé.

31.16 . O my dear son! Lo! though it be but the weight of a grain of mustard seed , and though it be in a rock , or in the heavens , or in the earth , Allah will bring it forth . Allah is Subtile , Aware .

31.16. Ya bunayya innaha in taku mithqala habbatin min khardalin fatakun fee sakhratin aw fee alssamawati aw fee al-ardi ya/ti biha Allahu inna Allaha lateefun khabeerun

31.17.يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

31.17. Ô mon cher fils ! Observe la salât, recommande le Bien et déconseille le Mal ! Supporte avec patience les maux qui peuvent t'atteindre ! Telle est la résolution à prendre et dont tu ne devras jamais te départir.

31.17 . O my dear son! Establish worship and enjoin kindness and forbid iniquity , and persevere whatever may befall thee . Lo! that is of the steadfast heart of things .

31.17. Ya bunayya aqimi alssalata wa/mur bialmaAAroofi wainha AAani almunkari waisbir AAala ma asabaka inna thalika min AAazmi al-omoori

31.18.وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحاً إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ

31.18. Ne prends pas un air arrogant en abordant tes semblables ! Ne te dandine pas avec insolence dans ta démarche ! Dieu n'aime pas les insolents pleins de gloriole.

31.18 . Turn not thy cheek in scorn toward folk , nor walk with pertness the land . Lo! Allah loveth not each braggart boaster .

31.18. Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka lilnnasi wala tamshi fee al-ardi marahan inna Allaha la yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoorin

31.19.وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِن صَوْتِكَ إِنَّ أَنكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ

31.19. Sois modeste dans ta démarche ! Baisse la voix quand tu parles, car le plus horrible des cris est bien le braiment de l'âne !»

31.19 . Be modest in thy bearing and subdue thy voice . Lo! in harshest of all voices is the voice of the ass .

31.19. Waiqsid fee mashyika waoghdud min sawtika inna ankara al-aswati lasawtu alhameeri

31.20.أَلَمْ تَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُم مَّا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُ ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُّنِيرٍ

31.20. Ne voyez-vous pas que Dieu a mis à votre service tout ce qui est dans les Cieux et sur la Terre, et qu'Il vous a prodigué Ses bienfaits aussi bien apparents que cachés? Et, cependant, il est des gens qui discutent de Dieu à tort et à travers, sans méthode et sans avoir de livre pour les éclairer.

31.20 . See ye not how Allah hath made serviceable unto you whatsoever is in the skies and whatsoever is in the earth and hath loaded you with His favors both without and within? Yet of mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah , without knowledge or guidance or a Scripture giving light .

31.20. Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkhara lakum ma fee alssamawati wama fee al-ardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratan wabatinatan wamina alnnasi man yujadilu fee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan wala kitabin muneerin
