69.6.وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ

69.6. et les `Âd, exterminés par un ouragan mugissant,

69.6 . And as for Aad , they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind ,

69.6. Waamma AAadun faohlikoo bireehin sarsarin AAatiyatin

69.7.سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُوماً فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ

69.7. que Dieu déchaîna contre eux, pendant sept nuits et huit jours consécutifs, au point qu'à voir leurs cadavres gisant par terre, on les prendrait pour des souches de palmiers évidés.

69.7 . Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown , as they were hollow trunks of palm trees .

69.7. Sakhkharaha AAalayhim sabAAa layalin wathamaniyata ayyamin husooman fatara alqawma feeha sarAAa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin khawiyatun

69.8.فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُم مِّن بَاقِيَةٍ

69.8. En aperçois-tu encore la moindre trace?

69.8 . Canst thou ( O Muhammad ) see any remnant of them?

69.8. Fahal tara lahum min baqiyatin

69.9.وَجَاء فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ

69.9. C'est le cas aussi de Pharaon, des peuples qui ont vécu avant lui et des cités ensevelies qui avaient également commis des péchés

69.9 . And Pharaoh and those before him , and the communities that were destroyed , brought error ,

69.9. Wajaa firAAawnu waman qablahu waalmu/tafikatu bialkhati-ati

69.10.فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً

69.10. et désobéi au messager de leur Seigneur. Aussi furent-ils balayés avec une force irrésistible.

69.10 . And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord , therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip .

69.10. FaAAasaw rasoola rabbihim faakhathahum akhthatan rabiyatan
