9.81.فَرِحَ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلاَفَ رَسُولِ اللّهِ وَكَرِهُواْ أَن يُجَاهِدُواْ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللّهِ وَقَالُواْ لاَ تَنفِرُواْ فِي الْحَرِّ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرّاً لَّوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ

9.81. Ceux qui sont restés dans leurs foyers et qui n'ont pas accompagné le Prophète au combat s'en félicitaient, car il leur répugnait de mettre leurs biens et leurs personnes au service de Dieu, en disant : «Ne vous mettez pas en campagne par ces chaleurs !» Dis-leur : «Le feu de l'Enfer est bien plus ardent encore !» Mais peuvent-ils le comprendre?

9.81 . Those who were left behind rejoiced at sitting still behind the messenger of Allah , and were averse to striving with their wealth and their lives in Allah ' s way . And they said : Go not forth in the heat! Say : The heat of hell is more intense of heat , if they but understood .

9.81. Fariha almukhallafoona bimaqAAadihim khilafa rasooli Allahi wakarihoo an yujahidoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi waqaloo la tanfiroo fee alharri qul naru jahannama ashaddu harran law kanoo yafqahoona

9.82.فَلْيَضْحَكُواْ قَلِيلاً وَلْيَبْكُواْ كَثِيراً جَزَاء بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ

9.82. Qu'ils rient donc un peu, pour le moment ! Un jour viendra où ils verseront des larmes à torrents, en punition de leurs actes.

9.82 . Then let them laugh a little : they will weep much , as the award of what they used to earn .

9.82. Falyadhakoo qaleelan walyabkoo katheeran jazaan bima kanoo yaksiboona

9.83.فَإِن رَّجَعَكَ اللّهُ إِلَى طَآئِفَةٍ مِّنْهُمْ فَاسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُل لَّن تَخْرُجُواْ مَعِيَ أَبَداً وَلَن تُقَاتِلُواْ مَعِيَ عَدُوّاً إِنَّكُمْ رَضِيتُم بِالْقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَاقْعُدُواْ مَعَ الْخَالِفِينَ

9.83. Si Dieu veut que tu te retrouves un jour parmi un groupe de ces gens-là, et qu'ils te demandent la permission d'aller combattre avec toi, dis-leur : «Jamais plus vous ne partirez au combat avec moi, et jamais plus vous ne combattrez d'ennemis avec moi ! Vous avez été contents de rester chez vous une première fois. Eh bien ! Restez donc avec ceux qui se tiennent à l'arrière !»

9.83 . If Allah bring thee back ( from the campaign ) unto a party of them and they ask of thee leave to go out ( to fight ) , then say unto them : Ye shall never more go out with me nor fight with me against a foe . Ye were content with sitting still the first time . So sit still , with the useless .

9.83. Fa-in rajaAAaka Allahu ila ta-ifatin minhum faista/thanooka lilkhurooji faqul lan takhrujoo maAAiya abadan walan tuqatiloo maAAiya AAaduwwan innakum radeetum bialquAAoodi awwala marratin faoqAAudoo maAAa alkhalifeena

9.84.وَلاَ تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُم مَّاتَ أَبَداً وَلاَ تَقُمْ عَلَىَ قَبْرِهِ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُواْ بِاللّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَاتُواْ وَهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ

9.84. Quand l'un d'eux vient à mourir, ne célèbre jamais la prière des morts sur sa dépouille et ne te recueille jamais sur sa tombe ! Ils ont renié Dieu et Son Prophète et ils sont morts en pervers.

9.84 . And never ( O Muhammad ) pray for one of them who dieth , nor stand by his grave . Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger , and they died while they were evil-doers .

9.84. Wala tusalli AAala ahadin minhum mata abadan wala taqum AAala qabrihi innahum kafaroo biAllahi warasoolihi wamatoo wahum fasiqoona

9.85.وَلاَ تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَأَوْلاَدُهُمْ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللّهُ أَن يُعَذِّبَهُم بِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ

9.85. Que leurs richesses et le nombre de leurs enfants ne t'émerveillent point ! Dieu ne les leur accorde ici-bas que pour leur plus grand tourment et pour qu'ils rendent péniblement l'âme en tant que négateurs.

9.85 . Let not their wealth nor their children please thee! Allah purposeth only to punish them thereby in the world , and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers .

9.85. Wala tuAAjibka amwaluhum waawladuhum innama yureedu Allahu an yuAAaththibahum biha fee alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona
