Hello Hanane,

You're english is good.
There is a lot of groups/places in Paris where you go and speak English.
For exemple, you can go in an Irish pub, you will find english people to speak with.
As sssamia59 told you, the best way to improve you "speaking English" is to go to an english country like GB or Irlande and of course try to avoid French people coz you will speak only French.
For my part, I went 1 year in Ireland and after I worked as a receptionist in a Hotel and after as stewardess on an American Barge...
Now, to keep my english, I stayed in contact via msn and phone with some english friends...

Hope you will find someone to talk to in Paris.
Good luck
Naj.

Hye everybody !

thanks you so much for your advice ! I know the best way to improve y english is to spend time in an english country. But unfortunatelly, it's impossible to leave my job for few months.

I should try, as najmae wrote, an irish pub or another place where people speak english !

But I said it again : if someone is interesded by improving it's french, it's will be a pleasure for me. In exchange, i want to have english discussions !

see you my bro !

Hi Hanane,

Well it's good idea, the best way to improve the speaking way is to have conversation with people who speak it fluently. So it's not necesarily to leave your place and travel abroad for that.

I used to practice what we call conversation english with people in all over the world, we use Skype or msn, and it works... but we choose only serious people.

As I am living in Canada people aer mostly billingual (French/English) , indeed it's the 2 officials language in this country.

So if the Idea seems good for you, let me know, and I will be glad to help you improving your speaking.

Hi Lila0111,

I would like to congratulate you for your English as it's even far better than a lot of people in the UK. As adviced by various members, if you would like to improve your English without changing your current situation, you need to join an Engligh speaking community in Paris as I beleive there is a large number of expats from various English speaking countries living in Paris.
If you like music, you can also to get the lyrics of your favourite songs and sing along (maybe in your bedroom if you are shyyawning smiley) as this will improve your pronunciation, then to can move on to watch movies (in English of course and maybe with subtitles at the beginnig).

Good luck and Go for it !!!!!!!!!!

Best Regards and Happy New year 2010 to ALL

.Just stay away from the Irish. You can only learn English from UK the rest are slangs or spoken with different an accent. Similarly learn French from the French people, not from the Belgium people or Canadians. Find an English school and learn the language properly. Your brothers here on this forum are very nice people and try to help but it’s not fair on them.
On the other hand, there are some nice schools in Agadir and Casablanca. Furthermore, some guides go to university and are students in Morocco could be your best option. You can have a nice holiday practice you’re English, French, Italian, Spanish, and the icing of the cake, gain an old but hansom Husband!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome

Hello,
Your English is fine, don't worry too much, it's just a matter of time and practice, you have to keep in touch with people whose native language is English in order to improve it. I remembered once when I first came to the states I was talking to the immigration agent in the airport half French half English ,we both started laughing because I sounded very funnygrinning smiley.

In the beginning I had problem understanding phrases and idioms here is an example: one of my friend in my job asked for help by saying "can you give me a hand ... I didn't have a clue of what she meant and I replied to her" what do you need my hand for!!!!" Here is my hand take itgrinning smiley

Hi,

The only way to improve your English and speak it fluentlly is to go and live in an English-speaking country.

By doing this, you will live in an all english environment, and you will be able to improve your quality of expression very quickly. For me it's the best solution.

If you are a student, and that you can 't afford leaving France, because you are short for money for example or any other reason, there are other solutions of course.

Listen to the english and american news everyday if you can. The BBC and CNN are very good channels.
Watch films in the original version. You can join a social networking website , and develop friendships with english- speaking people. There are a lot of interesting social networks, where you can meet people from all walk of lives and with whom you can socialize online and in English.

Another example ; if you are an english student, you can propose another student if he or she is interested in speaking english without resorting to french when you are at university for example. You can continue to " play the game " even when you are not at university, You can phone him or her , and connect on line every week for example

. Choose recent topics from the news, any theme ! Every theme is enriching, and will help you learn new words , expressions and improve the quality of your expression.

By training yourself everyday, your level will be excellent..

Keep it up !
