1) You watched Captain Majid. And you wanted to be just like him. (Guy)
2) You were in love with Captain Majid and wished you could be friends with Saly. (Girl)
3) You spoke French with some of your friends, your parents sometimes. But with your grandparents, it was Darija or Shel7a, Soussia, Rifya.
4) You’d call the maid from the kitchen to bring you a glass of water or a blanket just a few feet away from you (It’s sad I know).
5) You think Moroccan food is the best, French food is second.
6) Gas is by the liter and you don’t pump it yourself, some one does it and you pay them.
7) Having an AC at home was a luxury, besides, in the summer, you just stayed downstairs, especially if you had “la cave”.
8) You wanted Morocco to go all the way in World Cup 1998. Brazil lost on purpose against Norway. You’re still kinda mad about that!
9) You have family in France, Spain or the Netherlands (The two last options apply more to you if you’re from the North or Rif). Or you have family in Italy (More applicable if you’re from Beni Mellal)
10) Some dumb ass American asked you if you rode a camel to school. You laughed at it!! And said, yeah, you had to take a Camel cab a few times from your tent to school.
11) You sometimes ditched classes in high school to go on a date or just hang out with your friends within the school or close by.
12) The second largest mosque in the world is in the biggest city in your country
13) You had the dish and got all the European channels.
14) You remember when 2M had just started and you needed the “decodeur” to watch good movies.
15) There are no lines anywhere. Push, shove, and try to get first, or the others will.
16) Airport workers offer to carry your bags for you and you say no.
17) You had an extra half hour or hour for Lunch on Fridays.
18) People who DIDN’T bribe had to wait longer for their paperwork of GOT in TROUBLE.
19) You or someone in your family watched Santa Barbara or Top Model on 2M.
20) Your mom, or sister, or the maid watched Guadalupe. You might have watched that too.
21) You’ve seen 3 people on a motorcycle and 7 people in a 5-seat car.
22) There was no such a thing as a car seat for children and you could sit in the front next to your dad at age 3.
23) You never saw a building made of wood until you came to the USA. Everything was made of cement, brick, and marble.
24) Lion, Kit Kat, Bounty, Maltesers, Mars and Kinder Bueno are better than any chocolate bars in the US.
25) Hershey’s will never be able to compete with Chocolat Aiguebelle.
26) Stores closed during prayer time on Fridays.
27) You buy a cell phone there, it’s seen as the "latest technology" in the USA... the following year.
28) You’ve been to the Swiqa, you didn’t care much about it then, but you’re proud to take your tourist friends to the old medina now.
29) There was no KFC, no Taco Bell, none of the big chains except for Pizza Hut, Domino’s and Mc Donalds
30) You actually liked Mc Donald’s growing up. You’d hang out with friends there, but you wouldn’t go to MacDo (That’s how you called it then) here in the US.
31) Most of your friends played football aka "soccer". You had a female friend or at least knew one girl or two who played football just as well if not better than the boys.
32) Your parents watched Euronews, Al Jazeera and 2M for the news. But ultimately, they’d switch to TV5 or France2/3 to get more news.
33) If you’re a girl, you’ve been harassed by random guys who would not stop at just staring. You heard them call you zzin, manshoufoush? Or Ghzala tbarkellah, wakha ntkellem m3ak?
34) If you’re a guy, you know what I’m talking about, if you haven’t done it, at least you’ve witnessed it and wanted to beat the guy up if it was around your sister or girlfriend.
35) Moroccans can make random, completely unsynched clapping and banging on a door or table into something that actually sounds like music. And it makes you wanna shake a little some!
36) You call your mom’s girlfriends Khalti and your dad’s friend’s 3ammi.
37) The US is called Lmirikan, Italy, Ttalian, France, Fransa, Spain, Ssbalyoun, China Shinwa
38) You could hear the call to the prayer almost anywhere in the city
39) You enjoy drinking Atay and eating 7alwa, Feqqass or Ka3b Ghzal
40) If Masr is Umm Ddunya, Morocco Bbaha
41) You can pick up languages faster than most people.
42) You understand other dialects of Arabic, can speak them, but won’t speak Darija to non-Moroccans, coz they wouldn’t understand and you don’t want them to learn your powerful language. You might teach them a few cuss words though
43) You only had a lunchbox when you were real young in Ramadan.
44) You had lunch and dinner with your family.
45) You had casse-croute when you got back from school in the evening. It’s called MerendAa if youre

46) You prefer clubbing in Morocco to doing so in the US, although it sucks that they allow such young people in the clubs. You were one of those at one point
47) You knew that when someone signaled you with the “Flash” and they were coming from the opposite direction that meant there’s a hidden radar or cops, slow down!
48) You had to be ready to take off right when the light turned green. Otherwise, you collect all the honking from people behind you within 2 seconds.
49) You have so many way to designate money. E.g.: 10 drahem= alf frank= myatayn rial
50) You think it sucks that people drive at 10 or 15 miles per hour here on the freeways with 5 lanes. They suck!! With only 2, maybe 3 lanes in the “Autoroute”, people always drive faster back home. People don’t see how stupid they are!!
51) You remember the lyrics (or almost) to Matishat l7ok Aicha, Confiture Aicha... But most importantly, you remember slogans like: Sable d'Henry's, on n'y resiste pas! Parole d'Henry's... Ou encore: Marjane, j'y vais j;ygagne/ Marjane, arrib7o fil jawdati wal atman!!
52) You may not have watched al Qanat Assagheera if you were as lazy on Sundays as I was, but you definitely know what I'm talking about!
53) In elementary school, the teacher would make sure two people of the oppostie sex would sit next to one another (And somewhere it bugged you)... Later, it was totally fine and even something you looked forward to sometimes!
54) In High School, some of your classmates were pretty rowdy. There was always at least one prof who suffered from all of you in class. It was fun then, but not quite humane!
55) You don't confuse P with B. In fact no Moroccans do as far as you know!

LOL "Chocolat Aiguebelle", thanks for that one Cranberry. It brought back a memory from childhood when we vacationed in Morocco, I could have sworn Aiguebelle tasted like soap...

salam everybody i liked it very much ,it reminded me of those old days .But what i did not like about it is that it made me understand that i'am no longer the boy i was .Anyway really great of you man ,concerning marrakchi people; have a trip to the place ,socialize with the people then you can have your own idea about em so far better avoid prejudgents.
