EU’s High Representative Josep Borrell to visit Morocco on October 27

The High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell is expected to visit Morocco on October 27. This trip will focus on Morocco’s partnership with the European Union, online newspaper Le360 reported.

Before scheduling this work trip, Borrell held a phone conversation with Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita on September 11. During this phone call, the two officials discussed Morocco-EU ties.

Days after this discussion, Bourita phoned on September 17 the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi. On this occasion, the two men «agreed to work together on how the EU can contribute to recovery, including the diversification of economic instruments and by focusing on education, energy, 'industry and agriculture», Varhelyi revealed on his Twitter account.

Josep Borrel took office as High Representative of the European Union on December 1, 2019. He met Nasser Bourita, January 29, 2020 in Brussels.
