The Cairo Theater has cancelled a Saad Lamjarred’s planned concert, only hours after hanging its posters. According to E3lam, Cairo Show has removed all the posters of the concert from its official pages on social media, after a campaign led by Egyptian women accusing the Moroccan star of being «a rapist».

Yesterday, the theater announced that it is organizing a concert to commemorate its second anniversary, with Saad Lamjarred as a guest, the same source recalled. The announcement was highly criticized on social media, with internet users refusing to have a concert of the singer, accused of rape in France, Morocco and the United States, organized in Egypt. Using the hashtag #CancelCairoShow internet users called for the cancellation of the show.

Saad Lamjarred was imprisoned for nearly 3 months in the Draguignan prison, in France, for allegedly raping a girl, before being released on bail. «Saad Lamjarred will be tried before the Paris Criminal Court, on charges of rape brought against him by a young girl at the end of 2016», the same source recalled.

For the record, the Moroccan star has already been the subject of a previous campaign on social media because of his concert in December 2019 in Saudi Arabia.
