Police in the Ain Chok district in Casablanca have been searching since Monday for the killer of a student in California, another Casablanca district.
According to media, police carried out a vast search campaign near the crime scene.
The attack took place on Monday afternoon, when Mohamed, a student, was the subject of an attempted theft of his cell phone by a stranger carrying a knife.
The victim allegedly tried to resist his attacker, who stabbed him. The student succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while his killer fled.
An investigation has been opened by the authorities. The body of the victim was taken to the morgue.
