Stranded in Ceuta since the start of the pandemic, a Moroccan father has decided to take the longest way home. According to El Faro de Ceuta, the man swam, Saturday, to Morocco in a desperate attempt to reach home.

He was not alone, however. Quoting eyewitnesses, the same source reports that his 7-year-old son, who was wearing a life jacket, accompanied him.

The father and son are among several other Moroccans who decided to take the dangerous route to get home.

For the record, authorities in Morocco and Ceuta organized joint repatriation operations earlier this month, bringing home 300 Moroccans home. 200 others were repatriated in May. Despite these operations, several other Moroccans are still stranded in the autonomous city, the same source concluded.
