Covid-19 : 2,117 new cases in Morocco, mainly in Casablanca, Oujda and Kénitra

2,117 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 175,749.

2,449 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 146,421.

48 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,976. 17 of these deaths were recorded in the region of Casablanca-Settat, 12 in the Oriental, 4 in Drâa-Tafilalet, 3 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 3 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 2 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra , 2 in Souss-Massa, 2 in Marrakech-Safi, 2 in Fès-Meknes and one death in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.

The country has 26,352 active cases, including 539 in critical conditions. 64 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 651 cases: 472 in Casablanca, 62 in Settat, 35 in Mediouna, 32 in Nouaceur, 16 in Mohammedia, 16 in El Jadida, 11 in Berrechid, 5 in Sidi Bennour and 2 cases in Benslimane. Then comes the Oriental region with 474 new cases: 316 in Oujda-Angad, 41 in Jerada, 41 in Taourirt, 39 in Guercif, 27 in Berkane and 10 cases in Driouch.

Rabat-Salé-Kenitra follows with 356 new infections: 122 in Kénitra, 80 in Salé, 59 in Sidi Slimane, 46 in Skhirat-Témara, 20 in Rabat, 17 in Khemisset and 12 cases in Sidi Kacem. 162 cases were confirmed in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima: 51 in Tétouan, 30 in Tanger-Assilah, 27 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 17 in Al Hoceima, 16 in Ouazzane, 14 in Chefchaouen, 6 in Larache and a case in Al Fahs Anjra.

Beni Mellal-Khénifra confirmed 117 new infections: 47 in Khouribga, 43 in Beni Mellal, 13 in Azilal, 8 in Fqih Bensaleh and 6 in Khénifra. Souss-Massa follows with 92 new cases: 56 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 19 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 8 in Tiznit, 6 in Tata and three cases in Taroudant.

94 new infections were recorded in Marrakech-Safi (58 in Marrakech, 13 in Youssoufia, 6 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 6 in Chichaoua, 6 in Essaouira and 5 cases in Rhamna), 89 cases in Drâa-Tafilalet ( 31 in Errachidia, 31 in Midelt, 11 in Zagora, 9 in Ouarzazate and 7 in Tinghir) as well as 77 new infections in Fès-Meknès (19 in Fes, 18 in Boulmane, 12 in Taza, 12 in Sefrou, 9 in Meknès , 3 in Ifrane, 3 in Moulay Yaacoub and one case in El Hajeb).

In the southern provinces, 5 infections were recorded in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
