The rector of the Grande Mosquée de Paris, also known as The Great Mosque of Paris, Chems-eddine Hafiz reacted, Sunday, to the boycott campaign launched against French products in Muslim countries. After an eventful weekend, he called the Muslim community to be cautious.

«I strongly condemn calls for boycotting French products. They emanate from those who have always used Islam for political reasons», he wrote on his Twitter.

Also vice-president of the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM), he urged Muslims to be cautious when faced with this «false propaganda aimed at discrediting France».

Earlier on Sunday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian condemned said boycott campaign.

In addition to the boycott campaign, several people protested against the position of President Emmanuel Macron regarding the caricature of Prophet Mohammed, especially in Palestine.
