Covid-19 : AfDB loans Morocco $118 million to increase its intensive care bed capacity

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has announced that it is loaning Morocco 118 million US dollars to better respond to the Covid-19 health crisis.

The loan will be used to improve the health system and extend the intensive care bed capacity to 1,350 by adding 666 new units.

It will also help upgrade 78 hospital emergency rooms, purchasing additional screening tests, pharmaceutical products and devices.

It is worth saying that Morocco recorded on Wednesday, November 4, the highest number of daily infections and coronavirus-related deaths since the start of the pandemic. The country has 37,442 active cases, including 886 in critical conditions. 66 of them are on ventilators.
