Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs received his French counterpart on Monday, November, reports Diplomatie.ma. During this meeting, Nasser Bourita and Jean Yves Le Drian «discussed the exceptional bilateral relations which continue to be strengthened on several levels. They also addressed subjects of common interest, such as the Libyan crisis and the security situation in the Sahel», the same source added. This is Le Drian's third visit to Morocco since his appointment, on May 17, 2017.

Le Drian condemned during a joint press briefing with Nasser Bourita, the blockage of the Guerguerate border crossing and welcomed the autonomy plan submitted by Morocco to solve the Western Sahara issue.

This trip to Rabat was preceded by that of the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, in October. General François Lecointre, the head of the armies of the French republic, went to Morocco on September 10 where he had talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita.

Le Drian is touring some African countries. On November 5, he was in Niger where he met President Mahamadou Issoufou and yesterday in Cairo.
