4,979 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 336,506.
5,220 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 284,496.
70 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,539. 22 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 12 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 8 in Fès-Meknès, 6 in Marrakech-Safi, 6 in the Oriental, 4 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 4 in Souss-Massa, 4 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 3 in Drâa-Tafilalet and 1 death in Guelmim-Oued Noun.
The country has 46,471 active cases, including 1,023 in critical conditions. 97 of them are on ventilators.
Casablanca-Settat comes first, with 1,889 cases: 1,454 in Casablanca, 93 in Mohammedia, 81 in Berrechid, 59 in Nouaceur, 59 in El Jadida, 48 in Médiouna , 36 in Settat, 35 in Sidi Bennour and 24 in Benslimane. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 818 cases: 271 in Kénitra, 223 in Salé, 151 in Skhirat-Témara, 81 in Rabat, 52 in Sidi Kacem, 36 in Khemisset and 4 cases in Sidi Slimane.
Souss-Massa follows with 521 new cases: 270 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 105 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 63 in Taroudant, 46 in Chtouka-Ait Baha and 37 cases in Tiznit. 456 new infections were recorded in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma: 186 in Tanger-Assilah, 110 in Tétouan, 51 in M'diq-Fnideq, 35 in Larache, 27 in Al Hoceima, 24 in Chefchaouen, 21 in Ouazzane and 2 cases in Fahs Anjra.
Marrakech-Safi recorded 355 new cases: 190 in Marrakech, 55 in Essaouira, 39 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 25 in Chichaoua, 15 in Youssoufia, 12 in Safi, 11 in Al Haouz and 8 cases in Rhamna. The Oriental region recorded 199 new infections: 110 in Oujda-Angad, 76 in Nador, 54 in Berkane, 40 in Driouch, 17 in Guercif, 7 in Taourirt, 6 in Jerada and 2 cases in Figuig.
The region of Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded 143 new cases (118 in Guelmim, 24 in Sidi Ifni and 1 case in Tan Tan) while Beni Mellal-Khénifra recorded 124 infections ( 46 in Khouribga, 29 in Azilal, 20 in Beni Mellal, 17 in Fqih Bensaleh and 12 cases in Khénifra).
There are also 97 confirmed infections in Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (71 in Laâyoune, 14 in Es-Smara, 10 in Boujdour and 2 cases in Tarfaya) and 93 in Fès-Meknes (36 in Fès, 16 in Meknes, 15 in Taza, 12 in Sefrou, 8 in Taounate, 4 in Moulay Yacoub and 2 cases in El Hajeb).
The province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab) recorded 90 new infections, while 81 others were confirmed in Drâa-Tafilalet (45 in Errachidia, 14 in Ouarzazate, 9 in Midelt, 8 in Zagora and 5 cases in Tinghir).
