FIFA president announced this week that 22 Arab teams have confirmed their participation in the Arab Cup, which Qatar will host next year.
Gianni Infantino said during his visit to one of the 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums in Qatar that the Arab Cup matches will take place in a number of venues that will host the World Cup. He added that the Arab tournament will bring together more than 450 million Arabs from across the region, expressing confidence that this competition will increase public enthusiasm for the first edition of the World Cup in the Arab world and the Middle East.
The tournament will take place from December 1 to 18, 2021 and will see 32 matches staged over an 18-day period. 12 teams from the Asian Football Confederation will participate in the competition, namely Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Sultanate of Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Ten teams from the African Football Confederation will also participate in this tournament, namely Morocco, Sudan, Algeria, Somalia, Tunisia, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Mauritania and Libya.
