The head of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) Abdelhak Khiame was reportedly replaced by his deputy Haboub Cherkaoui.

«Khiame will occupy other functions within the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). This means that he will have more important missions», wrote Goud.

The Arabic-speaking media recalls that «Haboub Cherkaoui worked with Abdelhak Khiame at the National Brigade of the Judicial Police in Casablanca, for several years». «He's a man of communication who knows his job», the same source concludes.

For its part, Al3omk reports that the head of the «Moroccan FBI» was rather «dismissed and replaced» by his deputy.

The same source recalls that the now former boss of BCIJ had held this position since 2015. «The former boss, to whom Morocco owes the dismantling of several terrorist cells, which has enabled the kingdom to avoid a bloodbath for many times, was the former head of the BNPJ», the same source concluded.
