Covid-19 : 2,533 new cases in Morocco, mainly in Casablanca, Kénitra and Salé

2,533 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 356,336.

2,977 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 305,291.

57 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,846. 11 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 10 in the Oriental region, 10 in Souss-Massa, 6 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 6 in Marrakech-Safi, 5 in Fès-Meknès, 4 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 3 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra as well as one other death in Drâa-Tafilalet.

The country has 45,199 active cases, including 1,039 in critical conditions. 97 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat comes first with 944 cases: 504 in Casablanca, 155 in Nouaceur, 111 in Settat, 58 in Mohammedia, 40 in El Jadida, 27 in Médiouna, 20 in Benslimane, 17 in Berrechid and 12 cases in Sidi Bennour. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 794 cases: 322 in Kénitra, 197 in Salé, 134 in Skhirat-Témara, 93 in Rabat, 40 in Khemisset, 5 in Sidi Slimane and 3 cases in Sidi Kacem.

Souss-Massa follows with 326 new cases: 183 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 62 in Taroudant, 47 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 28 in Chtouka-Aït Baha and 6 cases in Tiznit. 234 new infections were recorded in the Oriental: 95 in Oujda-Angad, 41 in Nador, 28 in Berkane, 25 in Driouch, 21 in Taourirt, 12 in Guercif, 11 in Jerada and one case in Figuig.

The Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region recorded 83 new cases: 47 in Al Hoceïma, 22 in Ouazzane, 9 in M’diq-Fnideq and 5 cases in Chefchaouen. Marrakech-Safi recorded 64 new cases: 44 in Marrakech, 6 in Youssoufia, 7 in Safi, 3 in Essaouira, 2 in Al Haouz and 1 case Chichaoua.

61 cases were confirmed in Fès-Meknes (21 in Fès, 14 in Meknès, 11 in Sefrou, 7 in Ifrane, 4 in Taza and 4 cases in Boulemane) and 15 infections in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (region of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).

As for the region of Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 8 new cases were recorded (4 in Khénifra, 3 in Beni Mellal, and one case in Khouribga), while 4 others were confirmed the region of Draâ-Tafilalet (3 in Errachidia and one case in Midelt).

The regions of Guelmim-Oued Noun and Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra have not recorded any new cases during the last 24 hours.
