Algeria : Tebboune sends a message to Morocco from his hospital in Germany

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune appeared, Sunday, in a short video in which he addressed the Algerian people from his hospital in Germany, where he was admitted following his coronavirus infection.

The President, who is still recovering from his infection, said that he follows «daily what is happening in Algeria», adding that he «gives instructions when necessary».

He spoke about the epidemiological situation in the country, indicating that daily infections in Algeria went from 1,300 cases to 520.

He also addressed the regional political context, stating that «Algeria remains powerful». «It is more powerful than some think», he said, adding that «what is happening now was expected». «But Algeria will not tremble», Abdelmadjid Tebboune said, without mentioning the US recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara and the resumption of diplomatic ties with Israel.

For the record, Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been hospitalized since October 28 in Germany because of his Covid-19 infection.
