Local authorities in Rabat have reportedly refused a request submitted by several pro-Palestine organizations to organize a demonstration in front of the parliament on Monday against the resumption of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel.

Well-informed sources told several media that they had been informed by the local authorities that their request was not authorized.

On Sunday, a number of pro-Palestine organizations announced that they are planning to organize a demonstration in the capital on Monday, reacting to the announcement of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Rabat and Tel Aviv.

Moroccan organizations, rejecting normalization with Israel, denounced «the Zionist project which occupied the land of Palestine and displaced the majority of its inhabitants». They also considered that «the Maghreb, Arab and African regimes provide a free service to the Zionist entity».

The press release also announces that «the living forces in Morocco, with their parties, unions and associations (...) working on the Palestinian cause, have developed a protest program», with national and regional actions.
