Covid-19 : 2,793 infections in Morocco, mainly in Casablanca, Tangier and Skhirat-Témara

2,793 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 403,619.

3,846 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 362,911.

52 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 6,711. 20 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 10 in Marrakech-Safi, 5 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 4 in the Oriental, 4 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, 4 in Fès-Meknès, 2 in Souss-Massa, 1 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra, 1 in Drâa-Tafilalet and 1 in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.

The country has 33,997 active cases, including 1,078 in critical conditions. 135 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 1,136 infections: 865 in Casablanca, 63 in Mohammedia, 58 in Nouaceur, 50 in Settat, 44 in Berrechid, 42 in El Jadida, 9 in Mediouna and 5 cases in Benslimane. Then comes Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, with 573 cases: 171 in Skhirat-Témara, 152 in Salé, 112 in Kénitra, 51 in Rabat, 31 in Sidi Slimane, 30 in Khemisset and 26 cases in Sidi Kacem.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma follows with 309 new ones: 158 in Tanger-Assilah, 78 in Tétouan, 24 in Larache, 21 in M'diq-Fnideq, 18 in Al Hoceima, 5 in Chefchaouen, 4 in Ouazzane and 1 in Fahs Anjra. 191 new infections were recorded in Marrakech-Safi: 134 in Marrakech, 32 in Essaouira, 13 in Youssoufia, 7 in Safi, 2 in Chichaoua, 2 in Rhamna and 1 case in Kelaa des Sraghna.

Souss-Massa confirmed 119 cases: 61 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 19 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 18 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 16 in Tiznit and 5 cases in Taroudant. Beni Mellal-Khénifra recorded 90 infections: 22 in Beni Mellal, 29 in Khouribga and 28 cases in Fqih Bensaleh.

81 cases were confirmed in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (75 in Laâyoune, 3 in Es-Samara, 2 in Boujdour and 1 case in Tarfaya), 79 in the Oriental region (28 in Oujda-Angad, 18 in Nador, 10 in Berkane, 10 in Driouch, 7 in Jerada and 6 cases in Taourirt) and 73 in Guelmim-Oued Noun (44 in Guelmim, 15 in Tan Tan, 11 in Assa Zag and 3 cases in Sidi Ifni).

67 cases were recorded in Drâa-Tafilalet (35 in Errachidia, 15 in Midelt, 7 in Zagora, 6 in Ouarzazate and 4 cases in Tinghir), 67 in Fès-Meknes (41 in Fès, 10 in Meknes, 8 in Sefrou, 4 in Taza, 2 in Boulmane and 2 in Ifrane) and 8 in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
