Moroccan trade unions, NGOs and political organizations sign a petition against Jared Kushner’s visit

Nearly 60 partisan organizations, trade unions, human rights associations, journalists have signed a petition against the visit of Jared Kushner, Senior Advisor to the President of the United States.

«Moroccans will never support a perfidious normalization and the question of the Sahara cannot be used as a motive», read the petition, signed by 250 people.

«Moroccans see Palestine as a national cause and they regard the Zionist entity as an occupying, racist and criminal entity», the petition added.

This petition was signed, among others, by the most represented trade unions : The Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), the Moroccan Workers’ Union (UMT), the General Union of Moroccan Workers (UGTM), the Democratic Federation of Labor (FDT), the Organization for Democracy and Labor (ODT). Pro-Palestine movements and organizations also signed the petition.

For the record, Jared Kushner is expected to visit Morocco on Tuesday, December 22, taking the first direct flight connecting Tel Aviv to Rabat. According to the Reuters, Kushner will be meeting the day before visiting Morocco Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Jared Kushner will be accompanied by Assistant to the President and Special Representative for International Negotiations Avi Berkowitz, and Adam Boehler the first CEO of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation.

The same sources indicate that Kushner will be accompanied by «an Israeli delegation which will be led by Meir Ben-Shabbat, head of Israeli national security, during the El Al flight».
