Washington informs the UN of its new official position on the Sahara

The United States ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft sent an official letter, Tuesday, informing the UN of Washington’s new position on Western Sahara.

In said letter, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations requested that this message be disseminated to members of the Security Council. The head of the Moroccan government, who welcomed via Twitter the officialization of this decision, also relayed the letter.

On December 10, US President Donald Trump issued a statement recognizing Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.
