In Algeria, the Ministry of Religious Affairs dedicated Friday prayer sermons on December 17 to criticize Morocco. Imams in the country criticized through these sermons Morocco’s resumption of diplomatic ties with Israel and the US recognition of the Kingdom’s sovereignty over the Sahara.

The campaign is one of the latest ones launched by Algeria, since December 12, following the statement of Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Djerad. «Algeria is targeted by an elaborate plot of foreign parties targeting its stability (...) There is a will to bring the Zionist entity to our borders», he declared during a political meeting.

The same day the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sabri Boukadoum, criticized President Trump's decree, which recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over of the Sahara.

Parties close to power and their media have also contributed to this campaign to criticize the Kingdom.
