The first direct flight linking Tel Aviv to Rabat took off, Tuesday, carrying White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner and Israel's National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat.
The US-Israeli delegation is expected to land in Rabat to sign a series of agreements and the first documents of the Moroccan-Israeli normalization deal, which the two country has announced earlier in December, Jerusalem Post reported.
«The state we have lived in for the last 75 years, where Jews and Muslims have been separated, is not a natural state», Kushner said as he stood on a small makeshift platform outside the plane.
«What we are seeing now is a restoration of that norm and coming to a place where we can have that understanding – that will bring us to a much more peaceful Middle East and a much more peaceful world», he added.
«Hopefully, it will pave the way for another warm peace between Israel and Morocco», Kushner added.
For his part, Israel's national security adviser, Meir Ben-Shabbat said : «history is being written before our eyes», before boarding the flight operated by the Israeli airline company El Al.
