Morocco represented by Maha Tazi at the African and World Cups of Poetry Slam

The second edition of the Morocco Cup of Poetry Slam took place from May to December 2020 and secured the country a ticket to the Africa Cup and World Poetry Slam, which will take place in 2021.

According to a press release from the organizers, the Coupe du Maroc de Slam-Poésie organized several workshops and performance events that brought together and around forty young Moroccan urban artists, poets, writers and slammers.

With the support of the Moroccan Reading Network, the Let's Get Psyched Up organization and the Casablanca Higher School of Psychology, the initiative took place mainly online and brought together promising young talents, university professors as well as associative and cultural actors.  

A finalist was chosen at the end of these artistic meetings and competitions, Maha Tazi, a young researcher and PhD student in cultural studies passionate about slam and poetry. Maha Tazi will represent Morocco at the African Cup of Poetry Slam, which will take place in Ethiopia in November 2021, as well as at the World Cup of Poetry Slam, which will take place in Paris in May 2021.
