The English translation of the novel «A Country For Dying» by Moroccan writer and filmmaker Abdellah Taïa was shortlisted for the 2021 Pen America Literary Awards, for the «Pen Translation Prize» category.
«A Country For Dying» was translated into English by Emma Ramadan and published by Seven Stories Press, wrote Abdellah Taïa on his Facebook page.

«A country For Dying» tells the story of Zahira, a Moroccan prostitute in France and retraces, through her, «fragments of the lives of women and men pushed towards the West by the misery of their fate and who come up against a postcolonial universe which does not recognize them and which does not understand them».
