2,160 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 435,189.
1,854 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 401,429.
42 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 7,314. 17 of these deaths were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, 5 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 5 in Marrakech-Safi, 4 in the Oriental, 3 in Souss-Massa, 3 in Fès-Meknès, 2 in Drâa- Tafilalet, 2 in Guelmim-Oued Noun and 1 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra.
The country has 26,466 active cases, including 1,159 in critical conditions. 101 of them are on ventilators.
The region of Casablanca-Settat leads the way with 992 infections: 727 in Casablanca, 70 in Mohammedia, 48 in Nouaceur, 48 in El Jadida, 40 in Mediouna, 37 in Berrechid, 14 in Settat and 8 in Benslimane. Next comes Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma with 371 new cases: 215 in Tanger-Assilah, 43 in Al Hoceima, 41 in Tétouan, 40 in Larache, 20 in M'diq-Fnideq and 12 in Chefchaouen.
Rabat-Salé-Kénitra identified 190 cases: 68 in Skhirat-Témara, 50 in Salé, 20 in Slimane, 19 in Rabat, 12 in Kénitra, 13 in Sidi Kacem and 8 in Khemisset. In addition, 173 new infections were identified in Marrakech-Safi: 86 in Marrakech, 40 in Essaouira, 12 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 11 in Chichaoua, 10 in Safi, 8 in Rhamna, 5 in Youssoufia and 1 in Al Haouz.
Souss-Massa, for its part, identified 119 cases: 38 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 22 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul, 20 in Tiznit, 20 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 16 in Taroudant and 3 in Tata. Beni Mellal-Khénifra, for its part, recorded 84 infections: 24 in Azilal, 23 in Fqih Bensaleh, 15 in Beni Mellal, 12 in Khouribga and 10 in Khénifra.
There are also 79 new confirmed cases in the Oriental (22 in Oujda-Angad, 20 in Nador, 19 in Berkane, 10 in Driouch, 4 in Jerada, and 4 in Taourirt), 57 cases identified in Fès-Meknes ( 19 in Fès, 18 in Sefrou, 8 in Meknès, 5 in Boulmane, 3 in Taza, 2 in Ifrane and 2 in El Hajeb), as well as 41 infections recorded in Drâa-Tafilalet (19 in Errachidia, 8 in Zagora, 8 in Ouarzazate, 3 in Midelt and 3 in Tinghir).
Lastly, in the Southern provinces, 30 infections were confirmed in Guelmim-Oued Noun (20 in Guelmim, 5 in Assa Zag and 5 in Sidi Ifni), 16 cases were recorded in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (12 in Laâyoune and 4 in Tarfaya) and 8 infections were identified in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab).
