The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine has been approved for use in the UK, according to the BBC. The first doses of the vaccine will be given on Monday.

In addition to doses from anti-Covid-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNtech, the UK ordered 100 million doses of the AstraZeneca one. The doses are expected to vaccinate 50 million people.

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine was developed in the first months of 2020 and was tested on the first volunteer in April. It also went through a large-scale of clinical trials which included thousands of people.

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine doses can be stored in a standard fridge, which makes easier to handle.
