The Polisario angered by NATO’s publication of a Morocco map that includes the Sahara

Weeks after the United States recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has recently published on its website a complete map of Morocco that includes the Sahara. A decision that angered the Polisario Front.

Indeed, the Polisario Front announced this week that it will ask for «explanations from NATO» on its publication of this new map of Morocco.

Speaking to the Algerian news agency APS, Al-Bachir Mustafa Sayed described this move as «dangerous». «No official statement has been made by NATO on any deviation from the international consensus concerning the legal and legitimate status of the territory of Western Sahara», he denounced.

For the record, the separatist movement has continued to denounce, since December, the decision of the administration of Donald Trump, which recognized the sovereignty of Morocco over the Sahara.
