American diplomat Lawrence Randolph appointed US Consul General in Casablanca

Lawrence Randolph assumed responsibilities as United States Consul General in Casablanca on Monday, January 4. The American diplomat served before as deputy chief of mission at the US embassy in Algiers, reads a statement by the US consulate in Casablanca.

Before Algeria, Randolph worked in Frankfurt, Germany, as Head of Public Relations. He also spent a year in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he led a Foreign Affairs Unit and was part of a team of diplomats that negotiated a bilateral security deal between the US and Afghanistan.

In the United States, the diplomat served as Special Assistant in the offices of Secretaries of State Clinton and Kerry. Randolph also carried diplomatic missions in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Brazil and Mozambique.

The diplomat is replacing Jennifer Rasamimanana, who assumed responsibilities as United States Consul General in Casablanca on August 18, 2017.
