The Moroccan health authorities have not received yet vaccine doses to launch its vaccination campaign against the new coronavirus. Although deals have been concluded with China’s Sinopharm and Britain’s AstraZeneca, the vaccines have not been sent to Morocco, Health Minister Khalid Ait Taleb said on Wednesday.

Interviewed by 2M, the minister said that «for the time being, Morocco has not yet acquired vaccine doses, although we are in the middle of the process».
On Wednesday, the Health Ministry authorized the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, developed in collaboration with the Oxford University.
But the launch of this campaign or the urgent use of the vaccine still depends on the distribution of the latter. In November 2020, the Ministry of Health indicated that this acquisition would be made before the end of the year.
