Israel has appointed its former ambassador to Egypt David Goffrin as its temporary charge d’affaires in Morocco.
According to Israel’s Public Broadcasting Corporation, Goffrin will travel to rabat soon to head the reopening of Israel’s liaison office in the Kingdom. The Israeli Foreign Ministry has not yet confirmed the appointment.
Morocco and Israel have agreed to reopen liaison offices in a deal brokered by the United States. After a US-Israeli high-level delegation visited Morocco, a Moroccan one flew to Israel to proceed with the reopening of Tel Aviv’s liaison office.
