Military planners from Morocco and the United States are preparing for the 2021 edition of the «African Lion» exercise. Planners from U.S. Southern European Task Force met in Agadir with their Moroccan military counterparts Jan. 20-30 to make arrangements for the largest military exercise in Africa, US media reported.

The preparation of these military exercise was examined, on November 12 in Agadir, by Major General Andrew Rohling, Deputy Commander of the United States Army in Europe and Africa, and Lieutenant General El Farouk Belkhir, Commander of the South Zone of the Royal Armed Forces.

For the record, the same subject was discussed in June by Major General Roger Cloutier, the head of the US Army Africa (Africom), and the Moroccan senior officer Belkhir.

Because of the coronavirus, the 2020 edition of this military exercise, scheduled from March 23 to April 3 in Morocco, was canceled which was.
