A painting by former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Winston Churchill of Moroccan landscape Koutoubia is being sold by Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, Associated Press reported.

The painting, which was a gift from Churchill to US President Franklin D. Roosevelt is being sold by Angelina Jolie next month with an estimated price of 1.5 million pounds to 2.5 million pounds ($2.1 million to $3.4 million).

The painting shows the mosque at sunset and was completed during the 1939-45 conflict. Churchill painted after the January 1943 Casablanca conference that he attended alongside Roosevelt. The two leaders visited Marrakech.

In March 2021, one of the pieces he painted while in Marrakech will be auctioned in the UK for the first time.

«Scene at Marrakech» has an estimated value of between £300,000 (about US$404,000) and £500,000 (about US$673,000).
