Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadem announced on Wednesday that he phoned his South African counterpart Naledi Pandor. On his Twitter account, the Algerian foreign minister said discussed with the South African minister «a number of issues related to the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as regional issues of common interest».

The Algerian minister has recently been on a tour to several African countries, in an attempt to garner support from the Polisario Front.
This phone call comes a few days before the 34th session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union to be held on February 6 and 7, 2021.
