Israel’s Foreign Minister phones Moroccan counterpart

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi phoned, Tuesday, his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita. On his Twitter, the Israeli minister said that he «had a warm and friendly first conversation», with Bourita.

The two ministers «agreed to work together to rapidly implement the agreements between Morocco and Israel», he explained. They also «discussed increasing bilateral cooperation as well as wider regional issues», he concluded.

Last week, Morocco’s Foreign Minister phoned Israel's national security adviser Meir Ben Shabbat.

«The two officials agreed to set up working groups that will work on the conclusion of cooperation agreements in many areas, including investment, agriculture, water, environment, tourism, science, innovation and energy».

Rabat and Tel Aviv resumed their diplomatic ties on December 10, 2020. Since then, exchanges between the ministers of the two governments have been frequent. King Mohammed VI also spoke by telephone on December 25 with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
