More than 3,000 Moroccan seasonal workers are expected to arrive in Huelva, Spain, in February to work in strawberry fields. The operation is the second of its kind and it is expected to start on Wednesday. The first phase will the arrival of 740 of them to the Algeciras port (Cadiz), Huelva24 reported.
The government sub-delegation in Huelva told Europa Press that the first ferry will be joined by five others, with nearly 750 workers per trip.
The first phase ended on January 30, with more than 4,000 workers, to which more than 3,000 are added. PCR tests are carried out in Morocco and their negative results must be provided upon arrival.
Six associations and trade unions are involved in the reception plan for seasonal workers, with some fifty companies.
