Moroccan singer Sanaa Mohamed was arrested, Tuesday, in Kuwait for performing a duet with Israeli musician Elkana Marziano, Israeli media reported.
The Moroccan singer will reportedly be forced to leave the country following her release, reports said. The song was released earlier in February, months after Morocco normalized ties with Israel. Kuwait, on the other hand, does not have diplomatic relations with Israel.
After the release of the song, Sanaa Mohamed said that she received death threats. She had «gone into hiding» and canceled an interview with Israeli media, Israel Hayom reported earlier this week.
«We speak a lot. I speak the language (Moroccan Arabic) a little … It was a natural alliance. She is in Morocco and I am Moroccan. So, doing this collaboration is exciting and is the best gift I could receive», the Moroccan-Israeli artist told the channel.
