Morocco is expected to receive, Thursday, the second batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine. 4 million doses of the vaccine, manufactured by India’s Serum Institute, is expected to arrive on Thursday afternoon, a health ministry source told Reuters.
«This new batch would enable a steady continuation of Morocco’s national vaccination campaign», Said Afif, a member of the health ministry’s scientific committee, told the news agency.
Morocco was able to launch, in January, its vaccination campaign against Covid-19 after it received 2 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. It also received 500,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine.
On Wednesday, Morocco had vaccinated 746,116 people. Morocco is planning to vaccinate 33 million people.
