Covid-19 : 339 new infections and 17 deaths in Morocco

339 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 478,474. 1,388,539 people have received the vaccine against Covid-19.

348 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 458,852.

17 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,477. 5 of these deaths were recorded in the Oriental, 4 in Casablanca-Settat, 3 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 2 in Souss-Massa and 1 in Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma.

The country has 11,145 active cases, including 472 in critical conditions. 37 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 128 infections: 98 in Casablanca, 11 in El Jadida, 7 in Nouaceur, 5 in Mohammedia, 5 in Settat, 1 in Berrechid and 1 in Mediouna. The Oriental region follows with 54 new cases: 20 in Oujda-Angad, 17 in Nador, 13 in Berkane, 2 in Driouch, 1 in Jerada and 1 in Taourirt.

Next comes the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima region, with 35 cases: 13 in Tanger-Assilah, 13 in M'diq-Fnideq, 5 in Al Hoceïma, 3 in Chefchaouen and 1 in Ouezzane. Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 32: 8 in Khémisset, 6 in Rabat, 5 in Kénitra, 5 in Sidi Kacem, 5 in Skhirat-Témara, 2 in Salé and 1 in Sidi Slimane.

Souss-Massa recorded 31 cases: 27 in Agadir-Ida Ou Tanane, 3 in Inzegane-Aït Melloul and 1 in Taroudant. In Guelmim-Oued Noun, 19 cases were confirmed: 12 in Guelmim, 3 in Assa Zag, 2 in Sidi Ifni and 2 in Tan Tan. Marrakech-Safi recorded 18 infections: 17 in Marrakech and 1 in Safi.

Fès-Meknes recorded 6 cases: 3 in Fez, 2 in Meknes and 1 in Taza. Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra has 6 cases: 4 in Laâyoune and 2 Boujdour. Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab confirmed 5 cases, all in Oued Eddahab.

Beni Mellal- Khénifra recorded 3 cases: 2 in Beni Mellal and 1 in Fqih Bensalah.  Drâa-Tafilalet recorded 2 new infections: 1 in Errachidia and 1 in Tinghir.
