A Royal Air Maroc Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner left Morocco on Monday for China to bring the second batch of Sinopharm's vaccine.

This second delivery expected to arrive Tuesday will include 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine, reports Le360. The same number of doses were sent to Morocco on January 26, ahead of the launch of its vaccination campaign.

Morocco had ordered 45 million doses of the Chinese vaccine. «Morocco manages to get by because it had anticipated and even contributed to the clinical trials carried out for the development of this vaccine», a source from the ministry of Health told the same source.

With this new batch of Sinopharm, Morocco will have received a total of 7 million doses, more than 10% of its overall order. The same source also announces that a third delivery of the AstraZenaca / Oxford Covishield will be delivered this week from the Serum Institute of India.

It is worth mentioning that Morocco has vaccinated so far 1,388,539 people against Covid-19.
