Covid-19 : Morocco heads list of African countries with most vaccinated people

The number of people who received the anti-Covid-19 vaccine in Morocco reached, on Monday, 1,707,091, according to data provided by the Ministry of Health. With this number, the kingdom heads the list of African countries with the largest number of vaccinated people.

Seychelles ranks second in Africa with 55,980 people vaccinated, followed by Egypt with 1,315 vaccinations and Algeria, which does not provide information regarding it's vaccination data.

The United Arab Emirates leads the Arab world with 5.09 million people vaccinated. Saudi Arabia comes third behind Morocco, with 446,940 doses administered. They are by Bahrain (250,946 people vaccinated), the Sultanate of Oman (89,212), Qatar (50,000) and Kuwait (35,000).

Morocco is even ahead of European countries such as Portugal which has only vaccinated 529,021 people so far, Greece with 554,745 people vaccinated, Switzerland with 481,405 doses injected, the Netherlands (606,861) as well as Belgium (556,882).

Britain is leading the list of European countries, with 15.84 million people vaccinated. It is followed by Germany (4.15 million people), Italy (3.04 million), France (2.9 million) and Spain, where 2.56 million people received the one of the vaccines against Covid-19.
