Covid-19 in Morocco : 448 new infections and 2,357,283 people vaccinated as of Friday

448 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 480,504. 2,357,283 people have received the vaccine against Covid-19, while 4,867 received their second shot.

835 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 463,271.

16 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,540. 5 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 4 in the Oriental region, 3 in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, 1 in Marrakech-Safi, 1 in Souss-Massa and 1 in Drâa-Tafilalet.

The country has 8,693 active cases, including 424 in critical conditions. 35 of them are on ventilators.

Casablanca-Settat recorded 194 infections: 155 in Casablanca, 19 in Mohammedia, 7 in Settat, 5 in Mediouna, 3 in El Jadida, 3 in Nouaceur and 2 in Berrechid. Then comes the Oriental region with 66 new cases: 24 in Oujda-Angad, 21 in Berkane, 18 in Nador, 1 in Taourirt, 1 in Guercif and 1 in Driouch.

Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima follows with 64 cases: 27 in Tanger-Assilah, 17 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 10 in Al Hoceima, 8 in Tétouan, 1 in Ouazzane and 1 in Chefchaouen. 62 new infections were recorded in Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: 30 in Salé, 12 in Kénitra, 10 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 4 in Sidi Kacem and 1 in Khemisset.

Marrakech-Safi recorded 19 infections: 10 in Marrakech, 4 in Safi, 3 in Essaouira and 2 in Kelaa des Sraghna. Souss-Massa recorded 16 cases: 7 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 4 in Tiznit, 3 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 2 in Chtouka-Ait Baha.

7 confirmed cases were recorded in Beni Mellal- Khénifra (3 in Khouribga, 2 in Fqih Bensaleh, 1 in Khénifra and 1 in Beni Mellal), 6 in Drâa-Tafilalet (4 in Midelt and 2 in Tinghir) , and 5 in Fès-Meknes (3 in Fès, 1 in Meknes and 1 in Taza).

In the southern provinces, the province of Oued Ed-Dahab recorded 4 infections, while 3 cases were confirmed in Laâyoune (Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra) and two others were recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun (1 in Guelmim and 1 in Assa Zag).
