Mustapha Ramid has just submitted his resignation from the government. The Minister of State for Human Rights and Relations with Parliament mentioned «health reasons» to justify his decision.

«Taking into account my state of health and my inability to continue to take charge of my responsibilities, I hereby present my resignation from the government. I request that you submit it to His Majesty the King», Ramid wrote in his letter addressed to Saad-Eddine El Othmani.

His absence from the political scene has recently raised questions. Some sources mentioned the «anger» of the Minister of State against «the deterioration of human rights in Morocco». In 2019, Mustapha Ramid had shunned government meetings to protest against the «blocking» at the General Secretariat of the National Action Plan for Democracy and Human Rights. He had then threatened to submit his resignation.
