After a few hours of heavy rains in Tetouan, parts of the city were submerged by water. Photos and videos shared to social media show cars swiped by the floods.
While the rains are likely to continue until Tuesday, according to a weather alert, residents of the affected neighborhoods have already reported significant material losses to their property.
Others called on local authorities to act quickly to help those stranded. Media sources also indicate that rains led to the collapse of a part of the wall surrounding the Mohammed VI school near the Regional Academy of Education and Training.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said that heavy thunderstorms were expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces of the kingdom.
