Covid-19 in Morocco : 594 new infections and 3,745,173 people vaccinated as of Wednesday

594 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 484,753. 3,745,173 people have received the vaccine against Covid-19, while 360,689 received their second shot.

557 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 470,425.

8 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,653. 3 of these deaths were recorded in the Oriental, 2 in Casablanca-Settat, 2 in Marrakech-Safi and 1 in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra.

The country has 5,675 active cases, including 379 in critical conditions. 20 of them are on ventilators.

The Casablanca-Settat region recorded 291 infections: 230 in Casablanca, 20 in Mohammedia, 16 in Nouaceur, 8 in Berrechid, 6 in El Jadida, 4 in Mediouna, 3 in Settat, 3 in Benslimane and 1 in Sidi Bennour. Next comes Beni Mellal-Khénifra with 108 cases: 39 in Fqih Bensaleh, 31 in Beni Mellal, 23 in Azilal, 8 in Khouribga and 7 in Khénifra.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra follows with 44 cases: 21 in Salé, 10 in Skhirat-Témara, 7 in Kénitra, 5 in Rabat and 1 in Sidi Kacem. In addition, 42 infections were identified in Marrakech-Safi: 32 in Marrakech, 5 in Safi, 2 in Kelaa des Sraghna, 2 in Essaouira and 1 in Chichaoua.

Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima has identified 29 cases: 15 in Tangier-Assilah, 6 in Al Hoceima, 5 in Tetouan and 3 in Larache. The Oriental recorded, for its part, with 26 infections: 12 in Oujda-Angad, 8 in Berkane, 4 in Nador and 2 in Guercif.

There are also 18 new cases identified in Souss-Massa (8 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 5 in Tiznit, 4 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 1 in Chtouka-Ait Baha), 13 confirmed infections in Drâa-Tafilalet (9 in Errachidia, 3 in Zagora and 1 in Midelt) as well as 12 other cases recorded in Fès-Meknes (6 in Fès, 3 in Taounate, 2 in Boulmane and 1 in Ifrane).

The region of Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra identified 7 new infections (6 in Laâyoune and 1 in Boujdour) while 4 cases were confirmed in the province of Oued Ed-Dahab (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab). The region of Guelmim-Oued Noun recorded no new case in the last 24 hours.
