Covid-19 in Morocco : 420 new infections and 3,877,687 people vaccinated as of Friday

420 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 485,567. 3,877,687people have received the vaccine against Covid-19, while 499,942 received their second shot.

477 new recoveries were recorded during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries to 471,410.

4 deaths were recorded between yesterday and today, bringing the total number of deaths to 8,673. 2 of these deaths were recorded in Casablanca-Settat, 1 in Marrakech-Safi and 1 in Beni Mellal-Khénifra.

The country has 5,584 active cases, including 366 in critical conditions. 19 of them are on ventilators.

The Casablanca-Settat region recorded 259 infections: 207 in Casablanca, 13 in Nouaceur, 10 in Berrechid, 10 in Settat, 7 in Mediouna, 5 in El Jadida, 4 in Mohammedia, 2 in Benslimane and 1 in Sidi Bennour. Next comes the Oriental region, with 47 cases: 23 in Oujda-Angad, 10 in Nador, 5 in Berkane, 4 in Driouch, 2 in Guercif, 1 in Jerada, 1 in Taourirt and 1 in Figuig.

Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima follows with 35 cases: 26 in M'Diq-Fnideq, 4 in Chefchaouen, 2 in Larache, 2 in Tetouan and 1 in Al Hoceima. In addition, 29 infections were identified in Marrakech-Safi: 27 in Marrakech, 1 in Kelaa des Sraghna and 1 in Safi.

Rabat-Salé-Kénitra recorded 24 cases: 9 in Skhirat-Témara, 5 in Rabat, 5 in Kénitra, 4 in Salé and 1 in Khemisset. Souss-Massa, for its part, identified 11 infections: 5 in Agadir-Ida -Ou-Tanane, 5 in Inzegane-Ait Melloul and 1 in Tata.

Beni Mellal-Khénifra recorded 4 new infections (1 in Fqih Bensaleh, 1 in Beni Mellal, 1 in Khénifra and 1 in Khouribga) as did Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (3 in Boujdour and 1 in Laâyoune), while 3 infections were been identified in Fès-Meknes (1 in Meknes, 1 in Fez and 1 in Taza).

Finally, 2 cases were confirmed in Errachidia (Drâa-Tafilalet), while two infections were recorded in Guelmim-Oued Noun (1 in Guelmim and 1 in Tan Tan).

The region of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab recorded no new case in the last 24 hours.
